Community Development

The Community Development Department provides services in several areas of land use such as annexations, rezoning, site plans, subdivisions, and the issuing of building permits.

The Department reviews all building permits and development applications for conformity with the City's Land Development Regulations, the Florida Building Code, the City's Comprehensive Plan, and other applicable state laws and regulations. All permit correspondence may be emailed to permits@fruitlandpark.org

Information on the Federal Emergency Management Agency flood insurance rate maps and flood zone locations are provided upon request. Please visit the FEMA flood map to inquire whether your property is located in a Special Flood Hazard Area

For any Knox requests, please make sure it is for Lake County Fire Rescue.

Business Tax Receipt (formerly known as occupational licenses) applications are issued by the city clerk's office for commercial, professional and home occupations that are valid annually from October 1 through September 30. 

Sharon Williams

Community Development Administrative Manager

Sharon Williams serves as the Administrative Manager for the Community Development Department, overseeing the department and working closely with staff and applicants. 

She has over 20 years of management experience  working for the public sector, private sector and educational services sector.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a business emphasis from Albany State University.
