Senior Safety Check:
The Fruitland Park Police Department would like to offer our senior citizens a sense of reassurance by signing up for the “Senior Safety Check” program. Individuals enrolled in this program will receive a telephone call from the Fruitland Park Police Department every morning as a well-being check.

House Checks:
If you are going to be away from your home overnight, the Fruitland Park Police Department would like to assist you by providing extra patrol for your residence. Members of the Department will make periodic checks of your residence during your absence as time permits.

Garage Door Checks:
The Fruitland Park Police Department would like to assist you from becoming an easy target for burglaries. Members of the agency patrolling neighborhoods after 10:00 P.M. may periodically notice your garage door left open. If you sign up for this program we will attempt to either call you via the telephone or make contact at the front door of your residence so you can secure the garage. Remember if you sign up for this program you may be subject to telephone calls after 10:00 P.M.

Fraudulent Scams:
Scams often are categorized as “Civil Cases” and Law Enforcement personnel do not have the authority to investigate these matters. However; the State of Florida has developed a program known as “Seniors vs. Crime” which can assist. Although Law Enforcement would love to get involved the fact is we just do not have the legal authority. Feel free to contact the Fruitland Park Police Department if you feel you are a victim of a scam; however we will most likely refer you to the Fruitland Park Senior’s vs Crime Office, which is located at the Moyer Recreation Center in our Police Sub-station.
