The City is looking for an experienced Human Resources and Risk Management Director who enjoys working in a municipal government environment, or is willing to learn the processes associated with municipal government. The city of Fruitland Park is a growing city with approximately 10K and is located in Central Florida near all the theme parks and the beaches. Reporting Structure: Reports Directly to the City Manager

Supervisor Duties: Currently this position does not supervise an assistant, but most likely will do so in the near future.

Summary:

 This position works under the general direction of the City Manager and is responsible for all areas of human resources and risk management. You will serve as an advisor to Department Directors, the City Manager, and on occasion to the City Commission. Please see the job description for a more thorough job description.

Areas of Human Resources for which you will be responsible include, but may not be limited to:

a. Strategic Planning

b. Employee Relations

c. Project Management

d. Compensation/Benefits

e. Hiring/Selection

f. Risk Management

 

 Education Required:

You must possess a four-year degree in human resources management, business management with a human resources emphasis, finance, business administration with a human resources emphasis, public administration or related field of study. A certification in human resources is a plus.

Work Experience Required:

A minimum of five years experience in a senior level position or HR Generalist position, municipal government is preferred.

Salary Range: $75K-$85K
