Deputy Finance Director

The City of Fruitland Park is a beautiful small laid-back community located in central Florida in Lake County. We are looking for someone for the position of Deputy Finance Clerk who will report to the City Finance Director. The position includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Supervising staff
- Closing out month end accounting processes
- Tracking reserve funds
- Preparing month end reports
- Collects receipts, deposits and reconciles payments for various taxes and other revenue items.
- Understands payroll, including related federal and state monthly and annual reporting requirements
- Assist the Finance Director in preparing the annual budget and special projects
- Participates on committees and boards, meet with city officials and administrators
- Make presentations to various groups or individuals
- Participate in the presentation of financial statements, schedules, and other statistical and financial reporting
- Other duties as assigned
Only those individuals who possess the following will be considered:
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Four-year accounting, business administration with an accounting emphasis, public administration with an accounting emphasis, or finance degree from an accredited college or university.
- 3-5 years working as an accountant, municipal experience is preferred.
- Experience in the budgeting process
Full time 40 hours per week, Salary Range: $52K-$70K based on experience. Medical and dental benefits, and life insurance provided. Accrue vacation and sick time. Florida Retirement System (FRS) affiliate, Physical, drug test, and background check. This position is exempt.
