Hurricane Irma Preparation
The City of Fruitland Park is preparing for a potential strike from Hurricane Irma. The storm is still too far off to determine whether or not we will be facing hurricane or tropical storm winds. In preparation for this event, we have:
- Placed contractors on standby to assist with the removal of debris or fallen trees
- Been in meetings with Leesburg Electrical to ensure power is restored as soon as possible to the City
- Assigned members of the Police Department to the Lake County EOC, so we receive immediate information regarding storm activity
- City Manager, Chief of Police, Fire Chief and Director of Public Works participate in the daily conference call with the Lake County EOC.
- City Management Staff is meeting every day at 3:00 P.M. to make any needed adjustments
