Attention Fruitland Park residents, a fake email was sent out recently stating that our EasyPay system was being updated and that the city no longer accepts checks. (note EasyPay was spelled incorrectly as “E-Z Pay” which is an indicator of potential fraud). The email continues stating that residents needed to complete a form and resubmit their banking information. This is a scam that is being used to get your personal information. As a reminder, banks and financial institutions do not ask for your personal information by sending a link to a form by email and asking you to complete that form by clicking on the link. Never share your personal information through texts and emails, unless it is a known and secure website.
