The City of Fruitland Park is currently seeking a proven professional in senior management for the position of the community development director working independently under the direction of the city manager.

The successful candidate must:

  • have knowledge with the administration and enforcement of land development regulations; the comprehensive plan; concurrency and growth management; and strategic planning;
  • possess effective communication skills, and
  • work closely with related planning organizations, developers and the public.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in planning, engineering, architecture, urban design, GIS or closely related field.  A minimum of six years’ experience in planning, engineering, architecture, urban design or related field combined with preferred planning work experience in the municipal sector or five years’ experience in a supervisory or management position.

The salary is $70,000 to $80,000 depending upon experience and eligible for full benefits; vacation, sick leave, life, health, and retirement.  This is a salaried exempt position.
