DESCRIPTION:Body \n\nGot a few old parts lying around the yard? Gather them
  up and start\nplanning out your ride now!  \n\nSpectators are welcome to
  watch the race on Saturday\, June 13th. The\nrace will be located on Foxh
 ill Rd in Fruitland Park. (Right next to\niBarbque and Connection Point Ch
 urch)\n\nThis event will be held on: \n\nTest and Tune: Tuesday\, June 9t
 h at 6pm \n\nRace: Saturday\, June 13th at 10am \n\nRegistration deadlin
 e: Tuesday\, June 9th\n\nRegistration fee: $25 per driver / Must be 5 or o

 . \n\n2026 DERBY KART RULES\n\n * Your Derby Kart will be issued an offic
 ial approved sticker after\nit has passed inspection. No alterations to yo
 ur Derby Kart will be\nallowed after the sticker is issued.\n * It is expe
 cted that all drivers and people in their pit crew will\nact in a sportsma
 nlike manner at all times. Anyone who does not uphold\nthe requests of the
  race officials may be expelled from the race.\n * There will be race offi
 cials along the racecourse to make sure\nthat participants stay within the
 ir lanes and to ensure that fair\nracing is maintained.\n * There will be 
 race officials at the start & finish line.\n * On race day\, the derby off
 icial has the authority to reject and\neliminate from the race any vehicle
  which he/she believes is unsafe or\ndoes not conform to the specification
 s.\n * Protective full faced head gear and elbow pads must be worn during\
 neach race. Head gear can be helmet of any kind but must cover entire\nhea
 d and face.\n * To maintain fairness and family fun\, we ONLY permit home-
 built\nDerby Karts. Professional kit race karts will NOT be allowed.\n\nSP
 ECS:\n\n * Derby Kart must be powerless. No motor’s allowed.\n * A minim
 um ground clearance of 3” must be met when the driver is\nseated in the 
 Derby Kart.\n * The Derby Kart must have a functioning brake system suffic
 ient to\nstop the kart from 20 mph.\n * The body of the Derby Kart can be 
 made of wood\, fiberglass\,\nplastic\, or metal. The body will not enclose
  the cockpit seating area\nand must permit free use of the hands and arms.
 \n * The head cannot be confined by the Derby Kart.\n * No sharp edges or 
 protruding objects are permitted on the exterior\nor interior of the Derby
  Kart.\n * Closed-toed shoes MUST be worn at all times in and around Derby
 .\n * Bottom of Derby Kart must have a closed floor pan.\n\nMANDATORY QUAL
 IFICATION will be having 2 divisions for the derby. A\nbeginners track and
  an advanced track. We will be having a Test and\nTune on the Tuesday prio
 r to race day\, June 9th @ 6p.m. At the\nracetrack located at Foxhill Rd. 
 Fruitland Park. Each driver and kart\nwill be required to complete one ful
 l pass to see which track your\ndriver and kart qualify to race on. The ad
 vanced track has potential\nto go over 20 mph. Karts or drivers that offic
 ials do not feel is safe\nto race on the advanced track\, will be assigned
  to race on the\nbeginner’s track.\n\nFINAL INSPECTION ON RACE DAY:\n\nE
 very Derby Kart will be inspected with the driver in the seat prior\nto th
 e start of the race.\n\nTHE RACE:\n\nThe staging course will begin at Foxh
 ill Rd. Fruitland Park.\n\nDrivers and karts need to arrive at staging loc
 ation by 9 a.m.\n\nAny Further Instructions will be made on race day at th
 e drivers\nmeeting prior to race time.\n\nThe race will begin at 10:00 a.m
 .\n\nAbsolutely no changes may be made to any Derby Kart once it has been\
 ninspected and received an approval sticker.\n\nIn the event of damage to 
 a Derby Kart\, for example where the driver\nhits a curb\, repairs can be 
 made to the extent that as little work as\nnecessary is done to allow the 
 Derby Kart to continue racing\, and it\nmust pass safety inspection before
  being allowed to continue.\n\nWe will be having prizes for race placement
