City Charter provides for the appointment of a City Manager. The Manager is employed by the City Commission. Provisions are made for an acting City Manager to serve in the temporary absence or disability of the Manager.

The City Manager is considered to be the Chief Operating Officer of the City of Fruitland Park and supervises the administration of all departments, offices and agencies of the City and attends all meetings of the City Commission.

The Manager prepares and submits the annual budget, and capital programs budget to the Commission. Copies of the budget are always available for public review. The Manager submits the certified annual audit of the City's funds to the Commission for approval.

The Manager daily carries out multiple tasks to see that the business of the City is proceeding toward the best interest of the citizens of Fruitland Park.
